Beautiful morning in Kristiansand. The sun is rising, and I feel so happy because of the nature.
Finnish macro economy is in deep depression. Finland's economy is heavily dependent on exports (mainly high-tech field) and as we all have read from news that the international demand for Finland's exports has cut off almost totally.
The government has issued a lot of debt, old people are going to be retired. I am afraid my generation in Finland face high taxes...
This being said, I am getting more convinced to start a small business in order to start generating a continual cash-flow. I do have some savings to get it started... Perhaps one day it will be strong enough to give some jobs for individuals.
However, I try to avoid taking loans for the business so in the beginning it will be extremely simple..
In the mean time, personally I need to finish my degrees in economics and go to the non-military service since I am a man of peace and I don't want to be involved to military conflicts. This is my personal decision and it is based on the Bible (Matthew 5:9).
For you, my friends, we are living exciting times. The currencies seem to collapse. As I am reading the actions of ECB and FED through the eyes of an economist, I see that this collapse is closer. People will face severe diminish in the purchasing power of their dollars and euros. I predicted before Christmas that Norwegian krona is facing high inflation and now as I am going to shops I see how things have become more expensive (10-15%).
People in Europe tend to consider Norway as a safe-haven. It is true that things are better in Norway than in many other countries. However, people have a lot of loans and when the currency system collapses, those people will suffer the most since they have to pay high interest on their loans due to high inflation.
I thought for a short while that the boom is hitting to Helsinki stock exchange. It is true that interest rates are low. Still, the unemployment rates are rising... An unemployed person should consider other things than a new hair-dressing... Unemployed people consider on surviving.
Banks haven't reported to remarkable losses yet.
However, the credit losses are going to occur... I am watching very interestingly to Switzerland and its massive banking sector... Also here in Scandinavia are countries that have risks in Baltic countries (SEB-bank in Sweden).
However, persoanlly I am reading the Bible more than I have done before. I am getting strength from this book. It helps me to see the things that really matters in the life.
May the Lord Jesus bless you,
- Jarmo
